  3. She shifted her focus to acting after being cast in Stanley Kramer’s production of The Sniper in 1952.
  4. She also worked as a billboard model and appeared on magazine covers like “Cosmopolitan” and “Pageant”, which helped her pay bills.
  5. Apart from TV series, she made significant contributions to films such as The High and the Mighty, Mad at the World, and Man with the Gun to name a few.
  6. Her performance in the airline disaster film, The High and the Mighty, earned her the 1954 Golden Globe Award for “New Star of the Year”.
